One Florida Crew. Nine Remodeling Categories. One Guarantee — Pro Work Flooring

9 Categories In-House · One Project Director · One Guarantee Across the Job

One Florida Crew. Nine Categories. One Guarantee.

Pro Work Flooring and General Contractor is a Florida flooring and remodeling contractor delivering flooring, tile, bathroom and kitchen remodels, countertops, cabinets, walls, additional spaces, and full general contracting since 2012. Same project director from estimate to final walkthrough. Same workmanship guarantee across every category we touch — spec'd for the way Florida homes are actually built.

Why Pro Work Flooring Exists

A Florida homeowner shouldn't have to be the project manager.

Pro Work Flooring and General Contractor was founded in 2012 in Orlando, Florida on a single observation: every meaningful Florida remodel is multi-category, but the contracting industry isn't built that way. The new floor needs the bathroom torn out. The kitchen needs cabinets, counters, and a backsplash to land on the same week. The shower needs tile set over a waterproof membrane that actually holds in Florida humidity. Four trades, four companies, four warranties, one homeowner playing project manager — and no one owning the moisture detail where they all meet.

So we built the crew that wasn't out there. Pro Work Flooring runs flooring, tile, bathroom and kitchen remodeling, countertops, cabinets, walls and surfaces, additional spaces, and general contracting under one project director, spec'd for FBC moisture assemblies and HVHZ requirements where the coast demands them. One estimate. One timeline. One project director. One written guarantee across the whole job.

What We Stand For

Mission, Vision & Values.

Three sentences and five non-negotiables. The reason Pro Work Flooring exists, where we're going, and the rules every crew member operates by — written down so a Florida homeowner can hold us to them.

— Mission

The why we exist.

Make Florida homes more durable, more beautiful, and more valuable — with one crew accountable for every category we touch, spec'd for the slab, the humidity, and the room.

— Vision

Where we're going.

To be the contractor a Florida homeowner calls first — and the only one they'll ever need — across the full interior of their home, from the first floor install to the last full remodel.

— Values

What we won't compromise.

  • One crew, one accountability. The crew that opens the wall closes it. The buck stops with us, never with a sub the homeowner never met.
  • Spec the material to the slab.We test slab moisture and match every material to the room, the traffic, and the humidity before anything is installed. No copying a dry northern install.
  • Code-compliant or we don't touch it.Florida Building Code moisture and structural requirements, plus HVHZ product-approved materials where coastal South Florida requires them. No corner-cutting on waterproofing or inspection.
  • Honest estimates, line-item pricing.Every category measured and written out. No opaque lump sums. No mid-project surprises.
  • Five-year workmanship guarantee.Manufacturer warranties registered on your behalf, plus our own. One crew, one guarantee across every category we ran.

Meet The Founder

Marcus Alvarez built this crew.

Marcus Alvarez, Founder & Project Director, started Pro Work Flooring in 2012 after years in Florida construction watching the same problem repeat: a flooring crew that didn't talk to the tile setter, who didn't talk to the cabinet shop — and no one owning the moisture detail where they met. Floors went down over slabs nobody tested. Showers were built without a real waterproof membrane. Solid wood went in without acclimation and cupped by the first summer.

Today Marcus reviews every Pro Work Flooring estimate personally and sits in on the project kickoff for any full remodel. He runs the company on one rule — spec the material to the slab, the humidity, and the room before anyone quotes. He personally reviews scope on every FBC moisture assembly and signs off on the written estimate. Every crew member trains under his walkthrough checklist before joining a job — covering slab moisture testing, leveling and vapor mitigation, waterproof shower assembly, and final-walkthrough QA.

The Pro Work Flooring In-Home Test

Five questions every Florida homeowner should ask before hiring a flooring or remodeling crew.

Most Florida contractors will tell you they “handle everything.” These five questions separate a crew that actually owns the moisture detail from one that'll glue a floor to an untested slab and walk away. Ask any contractor quoting your project — including us.

  1. Do you test the slab before you install? On a Florida slab, vapor rises year-round. A real installer runs a moisture test before specifying anything — because rigid-core LVP, engineered wood, and glued-down flooring each have a different moisture tolerance. If a crew quotes a floor without ever mentioning the slab, that floor is a guess. Pro Work Flooring tests slab moisture on every ground-floor install.
  2. Who actually does the work — your crew or a day-labor sub? When flooring, tile, cabinets, and counters are split across separate subs, no one owns the seam where they meet. Pro Work Flooring runs all nine categories under one project director, so the crew that opens the wall closes it — same point of contact from estimate to walkthrough.
  3. Is there one project director — and is that person yours?A real multi-category contractor assigns one project director who owns the schedule, the material sequencing, and the walkthrough. If you're calling the tile setter directly to ask when he's coming back, you're the project manager now. Pro Work Flooring assigns one project director per job — yours from estimate to final walkthrough.
  4. Is there one guarantee across every category? When the work is split across subs, every trade has a separate warranty. The flooring sub warranties the floor. The tile setter warranties the shower. If a shower leak rots the new drywall, nobody owns it. Pro Work Flooring guarantees every category we ran for five years, in writing, under one project director.
  5. Are your installers certified on the systems they install?Manufacturer warranties on flooring wear layers and waterproof membranes are only valid when the installer is certified on that system. If a crew can't produce certification, your warranty may already be void. Pro Work Flooring uses manufacturer-certified installers — documentation available on request.

Why we wrote this down.If a competing contractor passes all five questions, hire them with confidence. If they don't, you now know which seam is going to fail mid-project — usually the moisture one. Either way, you're a smarter buyer.

Florida Conditions, Not Generic Remodeling

Built for the four realities of a Florida home.

Florida is the hardest climate in the country to remodel for. We treat these four realities as the starting point of every job, not an afterthought — which is why our floors stay flat and our showers stay dry.

  • Slab-on-Grade

Vapor rises through Florida slabs year-round. We test slab moisture and mitigate vapor before any ground-floor install.

  • High Humidity

Indoor RH swings from 45% to 75%. We spec dimensionally stable, waterproof materials that don't cup, swell, or grow mold.

  • Salt & Storms

Salt air corrodes fasteners and hurricane season tests every assembly. We use HVHZ product-approved materials where the coast requires them.

How long has Pro Work Flooring been in business in Florida?

Pro Work Flooring and General Contractor has operated in Florida since 2012 — flooring and remodeling under the same founder and project director. Our office is in Orlando, FL, and we provide statewide service across all 67 Florida counties.

Do you really run all nine categories in-house, or do you sub the work out?

All nine categories run under one project director: flooring, tile, bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, countertops, cabinets, walls and surfaces, additional spaces, and general contracting. The crew that opens the wall closes it, with one written guarantee across the whole job instead of a separate warranty per trade. The five-question In-Home Test above is exactly how we measure ourselves — and how we recommend you measure any contractor quoting your project.

What backs every Pro Work Flooring project?

Every project includes a free in-home estimate, statewide Florida service, manufacturer-certified installers, Florida Building Code-compliant work with HVHZ product-approved materials where the coast requires them, a satisfaction guarantee, and a 5-year workmanship guarantee on installation labor. We carry liability and workers' compensation insurance; insurance and certification documentation is available on request before work begins.

What makes Pro Work Flooring different from a typical flooring company?

Most Florida flooring companies install the floor and leave the tile, cabinets, and counters to someone else — and none of them test the slab. Pro Work Flooring runs nine categories under one project director and specs every material to the slab, the humidity, and the room before anything is installed. Same crew, same project director, one written guarantee across everything we touch.

Where in Florida do you work?

We provide statewide service across all 67 Florida counties — from the Panhandle through Central Florida to the South Florida coast — including Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, St. Petersburg, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Naples, West Palm Beach, and Tallahassee. How fast will I hear back if I submit the estimate form?

We reply fast during business hours (Mon–Fri 7am–6pm · Sat 8am–2pm) and schedule a free in-home visit at your convenience. After the visit — where we measure, check slab moisture, and assess subfloor and leveling — you receive a written line-item estimate. Statewide Florida service.
